Outdoor Mission Camp
The OMC Mission: Outdoor Mission Camp challenges campers to grow in their relationship with God, the Creator, and His most beloved creation... people.
Our Vision: Immerse middle and high school youth in the beauty of God’s creation with the prayerful hope that they will either come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior or continue to grow in their relationship with the Lord.
Our Method: Team-building and physical adventure in ropes courses, backpacking, climbing, white water rafting and canoeing, that developes quick and lasting bonds amongst campers and staff. Campfire talks, journal writing, scripture time, and informal discussion all reinforce Biblical truths and work together to instruct and change hearts, building upon the lessons learned during the day. Christ-loving staff, trained and certified in discipleship, rock climbing, ropes courses, white water safety, backpacking and skiing lead youth in exhilarating adventure in North Carolina’s beautiful, environmentally diverse Smokey Mountains.
Our Opportunity: Helping campers to develop more than just outdoor recreational skills. Our activities are centered around the themes of cooperation, encouragement, and relationship building, all with the emphasis on knowing God and His creation. Quiet time for personal examination is allowed for and recognized as essential for true spiritual growth.
It is the hope of the staff at Outdoor Mission Camp that your campers will take much more home with them than a few tails of excitement on the river, the trail, or the climbing wall. Outdoor Mission Camp's affiliation with YFC, Youth For Christ, has provided tremendous support and resources to ensure that the camp experience is Christ centered and profitable in every way.
