Summer time is 20 degrees cooler at OMC than in the low country. Bring a fleece or sweatshirt for cold evenings. Water shoes and dry change for rafting, old, not new, hiking shoes for backpacking, and one set of nice clothes for opportunities that sometimes arise. Winter clothes for ski retreats and fall or spring retreats. A complete list of what to bring will be sent to you with registration papers.

Can I bring any electronic devices, Game Boy, Cell Phone, DVD, CD, iPod, etc?
Adult volunteers can bring communication devices, but we ask that you limit the use of them to the breakfast and dinner hour, except in an emergency. If you want to let campers use them, we ask that you limit that to the same hour.

If it rains all week will I get a refund?
No, as a matter of fact, the Smokies are considered a rain forest due to the quantity of consistent rain. Rain should be expected sometime during your stay.

How can I get in touch with a camper in an emergency?
Call any of the numbers listed on the contact information page.

How much spending money should I bring?
None is necessary, but some items are available for purchase and some groups like to stop on the way back from rafting. I’d say no more than $20-30

Before 90 days- full refund, after 90 days, forfeit the deposit, within two weeks, we still ask for 50% of the cost. (we still have to pay staff and have told other groups we are booked)
